RIC Rail Connector Initiative
Williamsburg → Newport News → New Kent / Lanexa → Richmond International Airport
A phased public/private airport mobility corridor. The play: start with a reservation-based shuttle pilot timed to flight banks, use the real ridership data to prove demand, and only then ask whether a rail-adjacent airport connector deserves formal study. Shuttle-first, rail-ready.
The demand signal is already there — RIC set records in 2025, its own planning materials preserve a regional rail connection concept, and there is still no direct passenger rail station at the airport. The ask is modest: a 90-day discovery sprint with the right stakeholders, not a construction budget.
Started as a note in this folder, became real: recovery kits for local families, covered by the Daily Press. Proof the folder occasionally pays rent.
Not ready. Needs to survive a full weekend of thinking before it gets a page.
